1 October 1937

19371001a                            Slight alterations in the organisation. It holds as before except that on Sunday morning I come up here alone, a desolate Sunday journey, for lunch. I’ll do a few hours work & eat here & await the Yorkshire pair. Then we are having a publicity conference & collecting you en route for Oxford.  Maybe the young things want some avuncular advice before taking this Big Step. Anyhow Kenneth wants to see me alone for half an hour !! Hope this suits you. Then when their confessional is over we will make whoopee, avec you.

So I arrive during the evening tomorrow – Saturday. Should be about 9o/c, & shall enjoy your mother’s hospitality & your company until 10.30. a.m. on Sunday.

My letter to the Post worked, we are in Today, the Post is full of Youngunwins.

We may need the Times on Saturday evening, or some Bridge if little Audrey is at home to make up the four. A day starting with Golf should end in Bridge.

My aches & pains are fast diminishing.
