The last letter of this series. It should arrive on Thursday. On Friday, I’ll be there, myself. Bless you. Dear letter this afternoon with the very charming Evangelous poem. Brilliant my dear, brilliant. So merry a letter. And one from your mother, which please thank her. She seems distrait, mildly, that you are overdoing it. Don’t. Your health is so very important. But maybe she’s exaggerating it. Thank you for the letter. I’ll answer it with my own self.

Can you get Harry busy because I’m coming home ? If you used my arrival as a spur it’d start him off. I can carry on. Get him to wallop the lawn. But it’s you & the little home I want to see. Big fires, coffee scented meals. Staples mattress & sheets. Easy chairs. Lights on after 10 o’clock. Oh Boy, as Donald Duck says. Oh Girl, as I say.

I write this at 4.15 as we’re night driving in convoy this evening, & then a handful of little letters, Cape for the books, Durrant to set them alert, & mention overseas press, Auntie Emmie for a pair of socks, & so on. I’ll do some books up, too. And Mister Scott.

A pleasant day, fine but cold. We had a treasure hunt this morning, a 50 mile run, from map reading to map reference. Very pleasant. Revisionist afternoon. And we’ve got to organise the Squad Supper, procedure & all that. My lot in life. Mr Jenkins is coming as guest of honour.

49th Parallel was very good. I’d like to go again with you. And and M.O.I. film “The Battle of the Bank” Very well done, quite hot. Letter for Roger this morning. Yes, I travelled keep on Saturday. You don’t, or do you ? Bring your Pay Book.
19411103e                            Dear Double scarf putting up shelves for us. Not for your Mother, as you said, but for you. Get the Mistress of the house worked out before I come. I am the master, you mistress.

The pile of books of 19411103g here present a problem. I’ll post off all I can & post the remainder to me at home.  I’ll bring J.G.L.’s & E.W.E.’s with me. Shall we have tea with the Crofter’s at the house on Saturday ? Early ? They’ll be at home then Ring up & see. Arrive 3o/c. Leave at 4.30. A chance to see them. What dyou think ?
