My Dear,

You could have drawn that Egyptian cat they have used with our cat affair, its only a matter of doing it before they get someone else on the job. The willow-pattern should be all right, – if they use the article. There’s always an element of chance in these things.

I have postponed the willow pattern to fit in one on Easter, entitled “HOT CROSS BUNS AND EASTER EGGS”.  I have just posted this to thingummyjig Stowell. Its not done to send an article while they have one in hand, but if it is topical it is allowed.  So if they do the calendar one and Easter, that is April 8th. and the 15th.  But they might use only one or neither.

Can you illustrate Easter ? I can’t for the life of me see how, I expect they’ll have a photograph of an easter egg or something. You might try a baby chick coming out of an egg, gay, light, quick line drawing, a surprised, naive and innocent look on the chicken’s face. They might use that, if they use the article. But have the Willow-pattern done, for we’ll send it next, the article is written.

I expect I’ll trail home here after our Noah’s Ark venture for I am trying to get on with these here clocks and they won’t chime.  Perchance a few quiet hours tonight might do the trick. It is a nice thought, going chez vous, but it is more reasonable to come back to the desk.  One must get on, and press forward and all that. Next week will be a messy one, Pschaw !

Herbert is progressing, but he hasn’t come off yet. You’ll know yourself when he does. But all these ideas are useful and can be used later, I wish I had a copy of the stories. You might develop the speech scene. He would be on a tub or barrel, and he would have his hands raised, urging the animals to revolt. His listeners, hens, a sheep, two pigs, a cow etc. would be fascinated yet nervous.  (That’s all we ask !)

Tomorrow I shall have the motor outside Moores at six o’clock, champing, at the bit.

Thankye for the letter, which was a good sight. This is rather full of facts and figures. But your comment on the Gittings rose line is a good one. Twill bear thinking of. I hasten now to write something for money. May it roll in.

A demain, alors, and life is grand.

Ever yours. . .
