Arrived safely at my destination.  Letters to the unit as usual for the time being.  Peter joined up with me & we are holding each other’s hands.  Dear Peter.

We’re out to the pictures tonight, make the best of it.  We are in high spirits of course, & so long as you manage to bear up we’ll be carefree.

Darling weekend that was, never has anyone be so blessed in their leaves.  You’re the grandest wife of all.

God be with you, dearest heart. This will arrive perhaps on our wedding anniversary !  I shall have memories of that on Thursday.  I remember the Mitre, the car, the weather, the future it heralded.  Dear day, dearest of wives.
